One requirement of going on the World Race is a willingness to venture into the unknown, and trust that the Lord will meet you there. That is exactly what this month of ministry is all about.

We came to Siem Reap, Cambodia, with one task: to seek out new contacts that could potentially host future ministry teams– whether World Race teams, or short-term mission teams.

These contacts are people who serve their communities out of love, who put others’ needs above themselves, and who give until they have nothing left, and they often go unrecognized, which is what makes them unsung heroes.

Unsung Hero (n.):

A man/woman/organization dedicated to serving a specific group of people. He/she gives out of an abundance of God’s love daily. His/her name may not be in history books, and his/her acts may be unknown to the rest of the world, but while unrecognized, they shake a generation and move a culture and ultimately build the Kingdom.

You may be wondering at this point what our seeking looks like on a daily basis.

It can look like internet research– simply searching for organizations and churches that may operate nearby.

It can look like reaching out to friends, family, and churches that we already know, to see if they have any connections here.

It can look like going out into the city for the afternoon, praying and being led by God, hoping to make new connections that way, or just talking to people we meet about Jesus.

The entire point of Unsung Hero ministry is to further the Kingdom by building up people that are already serving the Lord where they are, and bringing fresh wind to their efforts by potentially sending them ministry teams.

As we wait on the Lord, I ask for your help.

Do you know of any Christian organizations or people that are serving the Lord in Siem Reap? Please reach out to your own network of family and friends, to further the efforts of these humble heroes, then comment or send me an email if you have any potential leads!

My deadline for funding is approaching at the end of this month! I still have over $4,000 to raise by then! If you can donate, please do so, and remember that all donations are tax-deductible. Thank you!
